Alfredo Cunha began his professional career in the field of advertising and commercial photography. He was a photojournalist for several newspapers, including O Século, O Século Ilustrado, Notícias de Portugal, Lusa and Público. He was a photographer and editor at Jornal de Notícias, from 2003 to 2009 and director of the image agency Global Imagens from 2010 to 2012. He currently works as a freelancer and is developing several editorial and documentary projects. Among his various projects are PREC (1974-1975), Romania after the fall of Nicolae Ceaušescu and The war in Iraq with Portuguese troops. He has published several books and participated in several solo and group exhibitions.
