What devices can images be captured on?

Photos captured and edited with mobile devices: smartphones (android and IOS), mobile phones and tablets.

Can I use my computer to edit my photographs?

In the case of mobile photographs, no changes to the image using desktops or laptops are allowed. You can only compress file sizes, change image titles, and upload via a desktop or a laptop.

Can you use image-editing apps from my mobile device to edit photos?

Yes. You can use any application or combination of mobile applications for the final edition.

How do I apply for the MIRA Mobile Prize?

To apply, you must fill out the application form available on the website: https://miramobileprize.com/submission/

You can compete with a maximum of 3 images.

Files must be titled with first and last name, category and image number. Put between the names, category and number an underscore. Example for “Manuela Monteiro” = ManuelaMonteiro_paisagem_01; ManuelaMonteiro_Minimal_02 etc. Photos with signatures, watermarks or frames are not accepted.

How much does it cost to participate in the contest?

There is no cost to enter the competition.

To support exposure expenses (printing, framing, assembly and communication), each finalist will be asked to participate in the rate of 35 euros (36.27 USD).

What is the prize?

The winner's prize is:

  1. Round trip from a European capital to the city of Porto (PT)
  2. Accommodation for 5 nights and 6 days at the target apartment galleries | MIRA FORUM
  3. A Trip to the Picos de Europa (Photoadrenaline programme) for the Portuguese author with the best classified photograph
  4. If the winner is Portuguese, he/she can opt for a stay of 5 nights and 6 days in Companhia das Culturas, in Castro Marim, Algarve

How is the selection of the winning photograph made?

An accredited 5 -element jury selects 50 photographs that will constitute the finalists. From this group the winner is selected. All finalist photographs will participate in a collective exhibition in the Galleries | Mira Forum.

Do you have to submit all images at the same time?

Yes, each participant must complete a single application form where he must insert the selected images

How do I know if an application has been successfully submitted?

After submitting the application form, a message should appear thanking you for your participation. This message may take up to 20 seconds to appear.

Each participant will after receive an email confirming the submission. Being a manual process, we ask you to wait for confirmation.

After submission, do participants continue to hold the rights to the images?

Mira Mobile Prize respects copyright credits: in the exhibition, publication and in all means of promotion and dissemination of the contest and the Mira Galleries | MIRA FORUM.

When is the shortlist announced? And the winner?

The 50 selected photographs and the winner will be announced in www.miramobileprize.com April 2025.

Are there any geographic limitations to whom may enter?

No, MIRA Mobile Prize accepts submissions from photographers and artists around the world.
