Terms & Conditions
1. CATEGORIES
- Each candidate may submit a TOTAL of 3 (THREE) black and white photographs of street photography.
- Photographs must be in black and white
2. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
- All authors who use the mobile photograph can apply - (photographs taken and edited with mobile devices) - over 15 years old..
3. TERMS & CONDITIONS
- Candidates must submit up to 3 (three) images in black and white
- Photographers are obliged to respect copyright. Works whose copyright does not belong wholly and without exception to the participant cannot be presented.
- The deadline for submissions is 23:59 on 12 of September of 2023
- The application is free, no costs involved.
- To support the exhibition costs (printing, framing, assembly and communication), will be asked to each finalist for a fee of 35 euros (38.95 USD)
4. IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS
- All the photographs must be taken and edited with mobile devices (tablets, smartphones or phones by any operating system)
- Photos can only be edited using editing programs on a mobile device
- The application is made by sending the maximum of three photographs using the application form on the website: https://miramobileprize.com/en/submission/
- Only photographs sent using this form will be accepted.
- Each file must have the first and last name as a caption, followed by a stroke, and the image number
Example: JoséSilva_01; JoséSilva_02; JoséSilva_03
- Use only alpha numeric characters (do not use: .:’”/?}{()[ ]+-=*&^ %$#@!.)
- Only images with the following requirements will be evaluated:
- Format: jpeg
- Minimum Dimension: 720 pixels on the biggest side
- File size: larger than 100kb and smaller than 7MB
- It will not be accepted images with the following requests:
- Images with boarders, frames and watermarks
- The images selected for the exhibition will be later sent with at least 1000 pixels on the longest side
- In some cases, participants may be asked to send in the original photograph, so as to ascertain that it was indeed taken and edited on a mobile device
- After submitting the application form, a message should appear indicating that your application has been successfully submitted.
- After applying for the contest, each participant will receive an email confirming their submission. As it is a manual process, we ask you to wait for confirmation.
- The application form asks for the candidate's profile on social networks - Facebook and Instagram – with the purpose of publicize the selected images
- The remaining information collected in the form – such as country and city – is merely for internal statistics.
- The organization does not take responsibility for any traffic issues that may cause this website to be offline . Therefore, we suggest that submissions be made in advance.
- The submissions won't be returned. Only the winner images will be saved for publicity.
- The MIRA Mobile Prize is not responsible for any failure and/or loss any submission
5. JURY
- The final jury is made up of 4 elements. The jury will select the 50 photographs from the shortlist and the winner. The photographs are selected anonymously.
- The jury's verdict cannot be contested.
6. IMAGE USE
- All image rights belong to the participant. Any image used by MIRA Mobile Prize B&W Street Photography 2023 will be identified with the respective copyright credits. All the images can be used in publications and publicity regarding the award.
7. FINALISTS ANNOUNCEMENT
- The 50 selected works and the winner will be announced in October 2023 on the website www.miramobileprize.com
8. PRIZE
The winner's prize is:
1. A two way flight from an european capital to the city of Porto
2. Lodging for 5 nights, 6 days in MIRA FORUM
3. A trip to Picos de Europa (Photoadrenaline programme) for the Portuguese author with the best classified photograph
4. If the winner is Portuguese, he/she may opt for a stay of 5 nights and 6 days in Companhia das Culturas, in Castro Marim, Algarve
9. EXHIBITION AND PUBLICATION
- The inauguration of the exhibition of the 16th edition of the MIRA Mobile Prize B&W 2023 will take place at the MIRA FORUM Gallery on November 4, 2022, at 4 pm. The photographs chosen by the jury as finalists will be printed and exhibited; the top 150 will be projected at the exhibition.
- Alongside the exhibition, a book will be published with the 50 images that make up the shortlist, as well as the 150 best classified photographs.
