MIRA Mobile Prize

19th MIRA MOBILE PRIZE | 2025

We have been celebrating mobile photography for over 10 years with tens of thousands of images sent from all over the world. We welcomed the winners of several editions and visitors from different countries to the city of Porto. Our entries have always been free!

In this edition we have the following categories – digital art, architecture, minimal, landscape, portrait and daily life.

AWARD

a week in Porto

6 days, 5 nights, with accommodation

and with a round trip from a European capital to the city of Porto. The best Portuguese classification wins a trip to the Picos da Europa. If the winner is Portuguese, they can choose to stay for 5 nights and 6 days at Companhia das Culturas, in Castro Marim, Algarve.

JURY

The MIRA Mobile Prize is awarded by a jury made up of five personalities from various
nationalities and of recognized merit in photography in general and mobile photography in particular.

GINA COSTA

Gina Costa is an art historian, museologist and independent curator based in Chicago. She was one of the pioneers to adopt mobile photography, but continued to use film, digital and Polaroid in her work. She is an award-winning and published photographic artist with work in public and private collections. Gina Costa has exhibited throughout Europe and the United States.

She has shown at the International Center for Photography, New York City; The MIRA FORUM, Porto Portugal; Griffin Museum of Photography, Winchester MA; The Notre Dame Center for Arts and Culture, South Bend, IN; Filter Space, Chicago; Perspective Gallery, Evanston, Il; The Rebekka Jacob Gallery, Charleston, South Carolina; the Minneapolis Photography Center, Minneapolis, MN; The Vermont Center for Photography, Battleboro, VT; The LightBox Gallery, Eugene Oregon; Tethys Gallery, Firenze, Italy: and MART, Rovereto, Italy. Her works are in public and private collections in the United States and Europe including The Fratelli Aliniari Archive, Florence Italy. She received many awards and participated in many collective and individual exhibitions.

OPENING

On Saturday, May 4th, the opening of the exhibition for the 17th edition of the MIRA Mobile Prize took place at MIRA | performing arts.
We had the presence of the winner Andrea Seligman, the best-ranked Portuguese – António Tedim, the jury member – Mario Pires among other photographers whose photographs are on the shortlist.

The MIRA Mobile Prize is surprisingly popular. In recent editions, there have been more than 65,000 entries from all over the world. The quality of the jury and the images selected have elevated the initiative to the top international mobile photography awards. Media coverage has been intense.
