MIRA Mobile Prize

17th MIRA MOBILE PRIZE

We've been celebrating mobile photography for almost 10 years, with tens of thousands of images from all over the world. We welcome the winners of various editions and visitors from different countries to Porto. And submitting entries to our competitions has always been free!

In this edition we have the following categories – DIGITAL ART, ARCHITECTURE, MINIMAL, LANDSCAPE, PORTRAIT AND DAILY LIFE – to which we have added a new category: images created using ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. Why?

The mobile community has always been driven by a spirit of openness to the new, accepting the challenge of experimenting. It is this same spirit that leads us to dare to risk what provokes and unsettles us: Artificial Intelligence in photography. We were also encouraged by the fact that there are already many members of the mobile community presenting excellent work using AI.

We dedicate this edition of MMP to Marian Seid Rubin, a pioneer of mobile photography and an active and supportive member of our community!

JURY

The MIRA Mobile Prize is awarded by a jury made up of five personalities from various
nationalities and of recognized merit in photography in general and mobile photography in particular.

MÁRIO PIRES

Born in 1960 in Lisbon. He works and lives in Lisbon. He began to capture the light in 1984. He believes that rust never sleeps and that we must continue to adapt, learn and evolve. He believes in the saving power of beauty. He believes that goddesses, muses and nymphs exist to guide the artist to find a way out of the chaos of his internal labyrinth. He believes that artists should not be defined by the tools they use, but by their work and their actions. He believes that the artist's creative fire only stays alive when he fearlessly dives into his unconscious. He works in photography, AI, video, calligraphy and music.
